Numerically the total value of the cards should not exceed a value of 21. Twenty one is the highest accumulated numeric value that you can have in your hand. When your hand totals a value of 21, means that you win the game with a Blackjack hand. When the dealer‘s hand with an amount exceeding 21 will burst, and that means he loses the game.

The dealer will collect all bets placed, when he receives a blackjack hand after dealing of the cards. All players will lose their bets, but where a player also has a blackjack hand in the opening round will not lose. The card values are functioning as follow:

• Cards with a face value of two to ten will use their respective values. For example, a combination of a 3, 4 and 8 will give a hand value of 15. The different suits will have no effect on the hand value.
• Face cards like Jacks, Kings or Queens will all have a value of 10. The player's hand will have a total value of twenty when he gets a Jack and a King on the first deal. This is the next best hand the closest to 21.
• The Ace card will have a distinct value in blackjack. This card is dependent and the values allocated to the Ace are 1 or 11. The condition of the hand will determine the value that you will use. An Ace and a face card automatically added as 21 which is a Blackjack hand with a possible payout ratio of 3:2.
• Then there are the soft or hard values. That is, when the total and your choice between 1 or 11 as a value for the Ace, without busting your hand. The participants in the game must know when to apply this rule. A hard value is where the Ace can only be a one.
